President Donald Trump gave his approval on Monday for Nidal Hasan to be executed by firing squad, according to France 24. Hasan is the former US Army psychiatrist convicted over the killings of 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009.
The Army has not yet announced either the date or the location where the execution will be carried out.
If carried out, it would be the first time the US military has executed someone since 1961.
