Sidya Touré, a Guinean opposition figure and former prime minister, will be buried in Côte d'Ivoire, according to RFI. He died in Paris on September 25.
His family chose Côte d'Ivoire because it is where he spent the essential part of his administrative career and where he had lived in exile for nearly five years, RFI reported.
An official from his party, which was dissolved last March, told RFI that a burial in his native Guinea was 'inconceivable' because of the 'humiliations' he suffered 'from the Guinean authorities.'
His body is expected to arrive in Abidjan on Friday, October 2.
