Jaguar has unveiled its Type 01 electric car in New York, aiming the model at young, wealthy US buyers — particularly those working in the technology industry — and at the wide open roads of America, according to The Guardian US. The vehicle made its debut on Tuesday night.
The car is more than 5.2 metres long and 2 metres wide, dimensions that mean it will not fit into a UK parking space. It also has no rear window.
Pricing starts at £130,000, equivalent to roughly $172,000, positioning the model for rich tech-sector buyers rather than the mass market.
The New York launch marks the conclusion of a two-year rebrand that The Guardian describes as one of the most scrutinised in the history of the automotive industry.
