Escalating fighting in Yemen is driving the country's health system toward what the World Health Organization called a "breaking point," the agency said, cautioning that cholera and other diseases are already circulating on a wide scale, according to Al-Monitor.
The warning follows a renewed ground offensive by the Iran-backed Houthis against forces loyal to Yemen's Saudi-backed government, a campaign that has killed hundreds of people and is worsening the country's humanitarian crisis, Al-Monitor reported.
United Nations figures cited in the reporting put the number of people displaced by the violence at no fewer than 145,000 this month alone, adding to the strain on health services across the country.
