The United States has withdrawn its bombers from the British air base near which an incident took place, the French daily Le Monde reports.
Six men have been placed under judicial control after petrol was discovered "in quantity" in vehicles close to the Fairford military base in southwest England, according to the newspaper.
Le Monde writes that numerous questions remain unanswered in the case, and that London believes the shadow of Iran hangs over it.
