Prosecutors in Turkey have taken steps to freeze the assets of Fatma Betul Sayan Kaya, a former minister and senior official in President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's ruling AKP, Arab News and Al-Monitor reported.
Kaya left her post at the weekend amid allegations connected to gains from an investment fund crisis.
The asset freeze landed on the eve of parliament's return from its summer recess, a period in which Turkey has been dealing with the widening fallout from that fund scandal, the outlets said.
