The countdown has officially begun. On Sunday, November 22, the streets of Madrid will become a circuit in which more than 10,000 runners will try to achieve their personal best time. Starting in the area of Plaza de Castilla and finishing in the area of Madrid Río, the test, which runs through emblematic areas of the capital such as Cibeles, Neptuno, Colón or Atocha, has become a true phenomenon due to its favorable downward profile and the approval of the brand for the San Silvestre Vallecana, becoming an ideal option for all those looking for their personal best of the season. The test is also included in the calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, so athletes of the stature of Adel Mechaal, Marta Pérez and Laura Luengo have smashed the time in the 2024 and 2025 editions. It is now possible to register for the Zara Speed Run 2026 through the race website. The price of the bib number is 16.80 euros and 3 euros of federation license for the first 4,000 runners and 20 euros for the following. The race sold out numbers in less than a month in the previous edition, exceeding the organization's own expectations. Last year, more than 1,200 participants managed to lower their mark below 40 minutes, and more than 1,100 women broke the 50-minute barrier. The avant-garde elements of the test, such as the experience in collecting bibs, the broadcast through the Zara app and website, or a festive atmosphere with DJs at different points of the route, at the start and at the finish line, have meant that almost half of the participants in the last edition were under 30 years old, turning a sporting event into an attraction for younger running fans.
