A study of extreme poverty and the ways it might be reduced relies on data gathered by Restos du cœur from its 5.5 million beneficiaries, according to Le Monde. Five international economists carried out the analysis.

The records used in the work were collected between 2018 and 2025, the newspaper reports. Working from that material, the economists were able to demonstrate the influence of the local socio-economic context on the move into extreme poverty.
