The Sevillian bullfighter Pablo Aguado cut three ears and went out through the Puerta del Príncipe at Seville's Maestranza on Saturday, an afternoon the newspaper ABC España described as a monument to naturalness. He fought in a blue and gold suit of lights.
According to ABC España, Aguado worked so slowly that during one pass with the muleta there was time to light a cigarette and still wait for the bull to finish crossing. He performed without haste or flourishes, the paper wrote, before a bullring that was filled to capacity.
The day still carried the feel of August in Seville, with the sun bearing down on the Baratillo and the Maestranza as September wore on.
