Tate Sandell connected on a 47-yard field goal as the last play expired, giving Oklahoma a 27-24 upset of No 1 Texas in Saturday's Red River rivalry game in Dallas, according to The Guardian US.
The Sooners (3-2, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) got touchdowns from their special teams and defense while their offense continued to struggle, the Guardian reported.
It was Oklahoma's first win over a top-ranked opponent since a 38-17 victory against Missouri in 2007. Facing a No 1 Texas team, the Sooners had previously gone 0-4-1.
Texas's Manning threw three touchdown passes but was also intercepted twice, with both turnovers proving costly.
