British director Mike Leigh dominated the awards at the San Sebastián Film Festival, where his film Tender Loving Care collected three prizes, according to El Mundo. The newspaper characterised the film as at once delicate and furious in its defence of compassion, of care and of the public sphere.
El Mundo reported that Leigh has said he will "probably" leave cinema. The director's remarks were reported alongside the film's awards success at the Spanish festival.
Spanish actor Javier Cámara won the festival's best supporting actor award, El Mundo reported.
