Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has not given up on returning to Venezuela, but she does not appear willing to repeat exactly what she has just done, according to ABC España. After seven failed attempts — the last three within less than 24 hours, with the newspaper reporting from Panama as a direct witness — she has entered a different phase of her long-running return operation.
The objective remains the same, ABC España reported, but the method is shifting toward less clandestine activity, more pressure on the regime and possibly a public return that would force all actors to show their hand. The newspaper said it had reconstructed an operation more complex than had been known, with Machado trying to re-enter the country by air, land and sea since June.
