Israel intends to increase security screening for pilots flying into the country, a spokesperson for the prime minister's office said, according to a Reuters report.

The plan was announced after the office said the co-pilot of a flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv stabbed the pilot and tried to bring the aircraft down.

The Reuters dispatch was written by Alexander Cornwell and Joanna Plucinska and dated Sept. 30.
