Iranian officials signalled Wednesday that Tehran has received a formal reply from Washington to its newest proposal for halting the seven-month war, Arab News reports.
The officials gave no account of what the American answer contained, and left open whether it should be read as a rejection. Only days earlier, US President Donald Trump had publicly turned the proposal down.
Government spokesperson Fatemeh MoHajjerani told the state-run IRNA news agency that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi brought the US response before President Masoud Pezeshkian during a Cabinet meeting.
