Seville faces one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year this Friday. The KH7 Guadalquivir Night Race, of which ABC de Seville is the official sponsor, is celebrating its 38th edition, this being also the largest in its history, with 26,000 participants prepared to take to the streets of the capital of Seville. The test will once again offer one of its great attractions, an 8.5 kilometer route through some of the most emblematic points of the city. The starting signal is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. from the Paseo de las Delicias, so the celebration of the race will require the implementation of a special device to guarantee the safety of runners and spectators and regulate circulation. These measures will also have consequences for those who need to move around Seville at night, since public transport will modify part of its normal operation and there will be streets that will remain closed or will suffer restrictions. Thus, the development of the Night Race will have consequences on the Tussam service. The restrictions that will be established in different parts of Seville will force temporary changes to be introduced both in the routes of some lines and in their usual stops, so users must take these modifications into account when planning their trips during the night. The alterations will be concentrated especially in the points through which the race runs. Among the most affected areas will be La Palmera Avenue, in addition to the area around Paseo de las Delicias, where the start of the test will be located. As detailed, depending on the evolution of the traffic system and the route of each line, some bus services will have to be temporarily suspended, recovering their normal operation once traffic conditions allow it. The Seville Metrocentro will also have to adapt its operation for the Night Race this Friday. Specifically, line T1 will see its route cut from approximately 9:00 p.m., when it will begin to operate a limited route between Prado de San Sebastián and Luis de Morales. This modification will be maintained during the development of the test and until traffic conditions allow normal service to be restored. Thus, T1 will progressively recover its full route as the traffic closures are removed and the streets affected by the passage of runners are once again open. Unlike what will happen with the Tussam and Metrocentro buses, the Seville Metro will maintain its normal operation during the Night Run. According to what this media has learned, no changes are planned in the service due to the test, so users will be able to use it normally during the night. In this way, the metro will operate like any other Friday, maintaining its service until 02:00, the time at which the last trains will depart from the head stations. As already mentioned, the celebration of the Night Race will also require the implementation of a special traffic device in different parts of Seville. Some of the restrictions began even before the test took place, since certain areas need to be prepared in advance. Therefore, drivers must pay special attention to planned traffic cuts and changes. It will be especially important to anticipate travel in the hours before 10:00 p.m., when the start of the test is scheduled, to avoid delays and reach the destination without being affected by the restrictions.
