A year after the Magno Vía Crucis Diocesano Córdoba Vía Sacra de Occidente was held on Saturday 11 October 2025, ABC España has looked back on a procession it describes as carrying a sense of the unrepeatable.

The extraordinary Via Crucis filled the streets with 34 pasos drawn from Córdoba itself and from the rest of the diocese, according to the newspaper. It was the fourth of the major celebrations staged in the city, and it was organised to mark 600 years since the first 'rezo'.

ABC España frames such an out-of-season procession not simply as a repeat of Holy Week at another point in the year, but as a way of achieving something that will not happen again — in the number of participants, in the route taken, or in what can only occur on that particular day.
