Christopher Alan Saunders, 76, was sentenced to more than six years in prison after being convicted of sexual abuse, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
He is the most senior Catholic in Australia to be found guilty of such offences. Saunders appeared in the WA District Court on Wednesday, where the sentence was handed down.
A jury convicted him in August on 13 charges. Among them were penetration without consent and unlawful and indecent assault.
