It was half past nine in the morning last Thursday when a road maintenance operator working on the A-62, near the Salamanca town of Parada de Rubiales, was hit by a vehicle that fled. The 57-year-old worker was seriously injured and had to be transferred in critical condition aboard a helicopter to the Salamanca Hospital.
