Max Verstappen claimed his second victory of the season at Singapore's Marina Bay circuit, according to El País, leading the way for Red Bull.

The Italian Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished third and, the same outlet reports, put himself in position for a first world championship, with his opening chance to secure it coming at the next round in Austin.

El País describes Red Bull's campaign as one that started with an overweight, sluggish car and is likely to finish with the team as the benchmark on the grid.

The newspaper adds that Verstappen, who began the year deflecting questions about his long-term future, will close it with a contract through 2030, while the team has been aiming at 2027 to return to the fight for the title.
