An immigration judge ruled Wednesday that the United States may deport the leader of Wisconsin's largest mosque, accepting the argument that he represents a threat to national security, according to Arab News.

The man, Salah Sarsour, is described as a vocal advocate of Palestinian rights. He was detained in Milwaukee in March by officers of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A federal judge then ordered Sarsour's release in June, stating that he had put forward a "substantial" claim that the Trump administration was targeting him because he spoke out against Israel and advocated for Palestinians.
