A federal judge has suspended work until further notice on border construction being carried out by the Trump administration inside Big Bend National Park in Texas, Le Monde reports.

The affected project covers the building of barriers, patrol roads and surveillance equipment within the park, which lies on the frontier with Mexico.

The construction carries a value of $1.7 billion, and environmental organizations and local actors have contested it, according to the French daily.
