Catholicism is experiencing a boom among young people in recent years. The percentage of Spaniards between 15 and 29 years old who identify with this religion has increased from 31% to around 45% in the last five years. One of the possible causes of this increase may be 'digital evangelization'. That is, the increasing presence of priests on social networks, which helps transmit God's message to a young audience. Mossen Voro is one of them. This is the name on social networks of Father Salvador Aguado Miguel, a Valencian priest who a few days ago has moved to the Parish of Fátima, in Valencia. This priest accumulates almost 150,000 followers across all his social networks, where he officiates the Angelus and Sunday Mass live. At the beginning of the year, one of his masses was seen by 9,000 people on TikTok. In an interview for 'Las Provincias', he told of his beginnings on the networks: «I started with Facebook, but then I jumped to Instagram and Tik Tok. "The great boom in followers came after the pandemic." Although there are more followers, he also has some critics even within the Church, especially for the humorous touch he uses in his videos: "There are older priests who believe that I am a clown. Or laymen, even. For some, a priest dancing is a sin. "Others approach the Church and look for Jesus when they perceive that the priest is a very human and accessible person, someone capable of connecting with people," he maintains. This priest's wish is "that the Spanish Church would support digital missionaries more, because their potential is enormous." Because it highlights that, among all the negative content that appears on networks, spiritual and religious content offers a positive vision and hope in the digital community.
