Madrid's Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, usually pictured through its ring, stands and bullfighters' screens, is being put to new use as a setting for corporate meetings and private celebrations, according to the Spanish daily ABC.
Behind that bullfighting facade, the paper reports, stands a four-storey structure with circular galleries that leads to tucked-away corners which have caught the attention of companies and individuals seeking somewhere to meet and hold events. Only the plaza's small chapel is off limits, for evident reasons, ABC notes.
The Monumental is no longer merely the backdrop for the paseíllos of Morante, ABC writes. It has also become a luxury showcase: the German manufacturer Mercedes chose the bullring in September for the launch of a new vehicle.
The plaza has likewise served as a stage for Google and Tiffany, and the Feria de Otoño will include a VIP area, according to ABC's report on the venue's reinvention.
