Javier Cámara has won the Concha de Plata for best supporting performance at the 74th San Sebastián film festival for his work in 'Cinco minutos más', directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera, according to El País. It was the only recognition for Spanish cinema in the festival's official section.
The screenplay for the film was written by Berto Romero. Cámara, 59, was born in Albelda de Iregua, in the Spanish region of La Rioja.
At an awards gala years earlier, Cámara recalled approaching Romero to say: "I wanted to tell him that he is a fantastic actor, that I wanted to be his friend because what he conveys seemed brutal to me."
