A protest movement among French high school students grew to a national scale this week, according to France 24, which devoted a segment to the unrest and the political reaction around it. The broadcaster also examined what it described as the political recuperation of the movement.

France 24 reported that the wave of anger has broken out at a difficult moment for the government, since the executive had just unveiled its budget proposal for 2027.

The programme put the question of how far the crisis could still go to Virginie Martin, a political scientist and a professor at Kedge Business School.
