Fifty municipal car parks reserved for residents will be fitted over the coming year with an automated entry system that identifies vehicles by reading their licence plates, alongside automatic barriers, according to ABC. The aim is to strengthen oversight of how the parking spaces are used.
The first group of 50 facilities is spread mainly across districts such as Chamberí, Chamartín, Salamanca, Arganzuela, Tetuán and Latina.
"The idea is for this technology to reach all of them," deputy mayor Inma Sanz said.
