José Ramón Gómez Besteiro, secretary general of the PSdeG, has confirmed he will not be a candidate for the Congress of Deputies in the general election scheduled for 29 November.
In a Sunday interview on Cadena SER reported by Europa Press and carried by ABC, Besteiro presented the PSOE as the "useful vote" for progressive electors, saying the alternative at these elections is a majority formed by the PP and Vox.
"Progressive people are going to be clear about one thing: either their vote goes to the PSOE or their vote is going to the bin, because it will only benefit the PP and Vox alliance," he said.
The PSdeG leader said he was convinced that the socialists are the option that best serves progressive voters in the November contest.
