Zinedine Zidane had not trained since 2021 when he stopped being Real Madrid coach. Jürgen Klopp had been in an office in Red Bull's football department for a year after he left Anfield in 2024 as a celebrity for his successful career at Liverpool. And Xavi Hernández, winner of the League in 2023, had not found a team that met his needs since he left Barcelona in a bad way two seasons ago. The three have reappeared at the same time as coaches of Germany and the Netherlands - Klopp and Xavi met yesterday for the first time - and France - Zidane makes his debut today against Turkey, 8:45 pm - during the Nations League dispute. A minor tournament has become a very interesting competition due to the debut of a trio of coaches who were in a waiting room with nothing more in common than their desire to reappear if necessary in a national team after the wear and tear suffered in very demanding clubs in the League and the Premier.
