These words from Zapatero at the 40th Congress of the PSOE, year 2021, are unforgettable: "To be a socialist is to have very little and be willing to give a lot." That declaration had the same mellifluous and moralistic melody that Zapatero gave to his aura of ethical reference: "The earth belongs to no one, except the wind", "counting clouds." The socialists saw in him an example of civic austerity, of material detachment, a good unbribable republican. Now it turns out that Zapatero's reality was in his safe. His reality was a set of jewels of very high economic value, and undeclared, that was given to him, in his capacity as President of the Government of Spain, in 2007, by Saudi Arabia, from which Judge Calama is not going to ask for any documentation. Zapatero's inheritance has passed to the Saudi kingdom. No spokesperson of theirs is capable of digesting this jump in versions. Neither did Zapatero's attempt to convince the judge that he was not aware of the value of the jewels. Coming from Saudi Arabia, that ignorance is incredible. Even if it is prescribed, it is indecent.
