Max Verstappen won the rain-delayed Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday for his first victory of the 2026 Formula 1 season, according to Arab News, which reported the race as being held in Malaysia.
The four-time drivers' champion sat through a stoppage of one hour and 33 minutes before the start, then kept standings leader Kimi Antonelli behind him through to the finish.
It was the 72nd win of Verstappen's decorated career. George Russell, the report said, still had an outside chance of catching his Mercedes AMG Motorsport teammate in the title race.
