An immigration judge has ruled that the head of Wisconsin's largest mosque may be deported under a cold war-era statute, according to The Guardian US. The Trump administration has tried to use that law against foreign nationals who have spoken out in support of Palestinian rights.

Salah Sarsour, the mosque's president, has been a lawful permanent resident of the United States for close to thirty years. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took him into custody in March.

He was subsequently released after a federal judge determined that his advocacy for Palestinian rights was probably the reason he had been detained, a finding that would have made holding him unlawful.
