Türkiye and France face each other this Friday, September 25, on the first day of Group A1 of the UEFA Nations League 2026/27. The match will be played at the Kocaeli Stadyumu in İzmit and will mark the official debut of Zinédine Zidane as French coach. Türkiye faces its first participation in League A after returning to a World Cup in the summer after a 24-year absence. Vincenzo Montella's team was eliminated in the group stage, with losses against Australia and Paraguay and a victory against the United States. France finished fourth: they lost to Spain in the semifinals and subsequently lost to England in the third-place match. Montella has made a squad of 29 players in which players such as Arda Güler, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Barış Alper Yılmaz, Ferdi Kadıoğlu and Merih Demiral continue. Among the new players are five players who have not yet made their debut with the senior team: Okan Kocuk, Adil Demirbağ, Bartuğ Elmaz, Melih Kabasakal and İlhan Fakılı. Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Kenan Yıldız, Mert Müldür and Rıdvan Yılmaz are not on the list due to physical problems. The Turkish preparation has also begun with several doubts. Orkun Kökçü did not participate in the first training session due to toe discomfort, while Deniz Gül, Yunus Akgün and goalkeeper Muhammed Şengezer received treatment for minor ailments. At the moment, the Turkish Federation has not confirmed them as casualties for the match. Zidane has introduced several new features in his first call-up with France. Guillaume Restes, Jérémy Jacquet, Andy Diouf, Lucas Da Cunha and Estéban Lepaul are among the players without previous experience with the senior team, while Eduardo Camavinga returns after being left out of the World Cup. Aurélien Tchouaméni has not been called up to complete his recovery and Marcus Thuram is also absent due to physical problems. The French list has undergone two subsequent modifications. Goalkeeper Robin Risser, physically weakened, has been replaced by Jean Butez, while Maghnes Akliouche has taken the place of the injured Warren Zaïre-Emery, who is out due to an adductor injury. Kylian Mbappé continues as captain at the beginning of Zidane's era. Turkey - France will be played this Friday, September 25, 2026, at 8:45 p.m., peninsular time, at the Kocaeli Stadyumu in İzmit, Türkiye. Turkey - France can be seen through DAZN, both in its application and on the online platform and on compatible devices. You can also follow all the information about the meeting on ABC.es.
