A Republican effort to accuse the former Trump prosecutor Jack Smith of perjury has backfired, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Republican Senator Eric Schmitt pursued Smith over whether he was present at an NBA game in Atlanta featuring the Atlanta Hawks and the Golden State Warriors.
