The Saudi-led coalition has accused Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis of carrying out a drone attack on an electricity distribution station in the Saudi holy city of Medina, according to Al-Monitor. The coalition announced the accusation on Thursday.
The reported strike prompted strong condemnation from across the Muslim world, Al-Monitor said.
The allegation emerged amid intensifying combat in Yemen. Government forces said they launched attacks on Houthi targets, while AFP journalists in Sanaa, which the Houthis control, heard explosions, according to Al-Monitor.
