Nidal Hasan, who was convicted in the Fort Hood mass shooting, is to be executed by firing squad, with the Pentagon set to carry out the sentence, according to ABC News.
In a statement, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said the recommendation came from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and that President Donald Trump gave his approval, the network reported.
