Paddy Pimblett, the English contender for the UFC lightweight belt, has again raised the prospect of a super fight against Ilia Topuria, according to the Spanish outlet ABC. The Liverpool fighter spoke at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, where he was present to see a teammate from his gym sign with the UFC.
Pimblett said he would relish the matchup and forecast a short night of work, while also pitching a hypothetical season of The Ultimate Fighter alongside Topuria.
"I would love to fight Ilia Topuria," Pimblett said.
Recalling Topuria's stint at 145 pounds, he added a jab about the weight class the fighter came from.
"I'd send him back to featherweight," he said of a possible meeting.
The war of words did not end there: Pimblett, known for his outspoken manner and for stoking verbal exchanges before his bouts, suggested the reality-show format would push Topuria to the edge.
