Three friends of Nolan Wells, a Mississippi teenager who died following a boating trip in July, have brought a defamation lawsuit against NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens. The men named in the suit are Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo and Morgan Seymour.
According to The Guardian US, the action centres on a video Owens posted to Instagram on 26 September in which he suggested the trio had removed material from Wells's phone following his death. In their lawsuit, the three men deny the allegation.
