Two days remain before King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia travel to Ceuta, according to ABC. The Spanish monarchs will head for the autonomous city the day after the Fiesta Nacional.

They will in fact call at both autonomous cities: on the 14th they are also due to stop in Melilla.

It is the first visit by a Spanish monarch to the North African enclave in 19 years, the outlet reports. The previous one took place in November 2007, when King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía made the journey.

ABC describes that 2007 trip as a historic appointment: it was the first and only official visit by Felipe VI's father to Ceuta and Melilla across his 39-year reign.

The article notes that the visit by Don Felipe and Doña Letizia will take place without the president.
