A woman aged 63 has died in Egypt's Sharqia governorate after her unemployed son assaulted her, Roya News reported. The confrontation began as a verbal dispute after he insisted on demanding money from her.
Security services at the Sharqia Security Directorate received a report recorded at Hihya police station under administrative number 4258 for the year 2026, stating that the victim, named Rada, 63, had been killed, according to the outlet.
Preliminary investigations found that her son, El-Sayed, 35, who is not working, dealt fatal blows to her head after she refused to hand him money while he himself stayed away from employment, and that this led to her immediate death, Roya News said.
Investigating authorities have started the legal measures needed to establish the circumstances of the incident.
