The possible return of Ada Colau is looming over a Spanish left without a clear leader, according to ABC España. The outlet reports that a left project whose launch took place on 21 February had shown little apparent progress since then — at least on the media front — until its brand became known on Friday.
ABC describes Yolanda Díaz's Sumar as "more than written off" and says Gabriel Rufián's appeals to build a coalition of sovereignist lefts were discarded. According to the outlet, the ERC figure's ambitions always centred on heading only his own party's candidacy in Catalonia, with a free hand to draw up the list while promoting himself.
The naming of the project still awaits official confirmation, ABC adds.
