US Central Command has denied reports that a Navy MH-60R helicopter crashed in the Red Sea, saying the accounts being circulated are untrue.
"Reports that a US Navy helicopter went down in the Red Sea are not true," CENTCOM said.
According to Interfax, the command said Iranian state media were behind the false reports, which followed an emergency declared aboard the aircraft the previous night.
