The High Court of Justice of Andalusia has upheld the regional Cámara de Cuentas's decision to investigate one of its own councillors, Antonio Manuel López Hernández, who was appointed to the post on a PSOE proposal, according to ABC.
In a ruling dated 24 July that ABC said it had seen, the Third Section of the court's administrative division in Seville threw out the appeal lodged by the socialist councillor. He had tried to halt the internal inquiry by arguing that his fundamental rights had been violated.
The investigation concerns legal advice he provided to Begoña Gómez and other work carried out outside the institution that pays his public salary, the outlet reported. The audit body learned through media coverage that he had drafted a technical report.
